A-Town Hi-Tech Abilene, TX

Our history goes back several years with even a few name changes along the way. Gary Glenn moved to Abilene in late October of 1972 to open a carpet cleaning company. On November 1, 1972, "Abilene Shampoo & Steam" opened and in just three short months, we already had three trucks on the road with ten employees. In 1976, with the introduction to 'truck mounted carpet cleaning' technology, we felt that our name no longer fit what we were doing and changed our name to "A-Town Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning". We wanted to be the premier cleaning firm in what then was called "The Key City". We continued to grow for the next 12 years.

In 1984, I became interested in fire and water damage restoration and opened a separate company to handle that side of the business. That company was "Hi-Tech Fire & Water Damage Restoration". My office personnel declared it a nightmare to try to figure out on the old rotary phone system who was calling for which company. Hence came the name of "A-Town Hi-Tech Cleaning & Restoration" and now we were serving the "Big Country". They no longer had people hang up because they thought they had the wrong number.
